24-hour news outlets are now something of a given- We can get our news fix anytime we want courtesy of satellite TV news channels such as CNN. Cable news network: was actually founded way back in 1980-it was the very first station to provide 24-hour television news coverage and today it is second to the BBC with the most employed journalists and worldwide Bureaus. CNN is also America’s number one news network. Unlike its competitors, Fox and MSNBC : CNN presents a more balanced or neutral point of view. CNN also has its very own HD channel the programming is the same as regular CNN: only with the high definition versions of select shows (as of yet not all CNN studios are HD capable). Most of the high video quality shows are based out of CNN’s New York studio. Here is a small selection of CNN shows you can catch in full HD glory.

Anderson Cooper 360

This show features silver-haired anchor Anderson Cooper. AC-360 is two hours long-the first half is usually live: and airs at 10 pm ET: so that international audiences can tune in as well: while the the second half is typically a repeat of the first hour: or is reserved for unique interest stories. Of course: being aired in HD means you can get the news in all of its crisp detail; that and Anderson Cooper looks that much better in high definition.

American Morning

As its title suggests, this is a morning news program. There are two hosts: Kiran and John Roberts. As opposed to most other American morning programs: American Morning focuses on the news. You’ll get all your international: local and political news stories m a series of scripted Segments. Thus: unlike say Fox and Friends, there’s not much idle banter.

Lou Dobbs Tonight

Lou Dobbs Tonight is an editorial commentary program: which covers significant news stories with a special focus on politics and the economy.
Dobbs has strong views against Immigration and considers himself a populist. He is pointed in his beliefs and while many doesn’t agree with his point of view: He does grant his brand of unique Americanism. He is not fair and balanced-he Says things as he sees them and therein lays the rub.

Your Money

This is a one-hour news show, in HI): hosted by Christine Romans and Ali Velshi. The show gives you a breakdown of the week’s business news and tells viewers how this will impact their Savings, stocks and portfolios. Your Money is CNN’s only program dedicated to in-depth financial reporting. The show discusses saving strategies: success formulas and it also features profiles of top business minds.

Campbell Brown doesn’t hold back. She will attack both left and right wingers and has been accused of being both too liberal and too conservative. Her show is of a piece with The O Reilly
Factor and Countdown with Keith : as it is mostly opinion based and centers around Interviews.
CNN has been one of the world’s best-known sources for news for over three decades. It’s global Headquarters is located m downtown Atlanta. Visitors to the area may enjoy one of the behind the scenes tours that CNN offers.
The most popular is the Inside CNN Studio Tour, offered daily from 9am-5pm. Tours begin every ten minutes and last approximately an hour. The journey starts with visitors ascending the atrium escalator: the longest freestanding escalator in the world. Visitors will then enter CNN’s 50-foot globe where they may view over 25 years of CNN news footage. The replica of a control room gives visitors a view of what goes on behind the scenes in a live television newsroom. Studio 7E is a black box studio that allows a look at the technology that CNN uses in the production of its daily shows. At the CNN Overlook: visitors iVi11 have the opportunity to observe a newsroom m action. The journey also gives visitors the chance to learn about CNN’s other networks including HLN (formerly Headline News): CNN International: and CNN en Espanol The trip does involve descending several flights of stairs: so those that will need assistance with accessibility should give 72 hours’ notice. No photography is allowed. Prices are $15 for adults,
S14 for seniors and students with ID: and SIO for ages 4-12 years. Member of the military is admitted free with their active duty ID.
The VIP Tour is one of CNN’s specialty . It allows expanded access behind the scenes. This includes visits to the CNN: HLN: and CNN.com newsrooms. That is given on Monday through Saturday at 11:10 am and 2:10 pm. The VIP Tour is $35 for adults. Children under 12 are not allowed. Reservations are highly recommended.
The Morning Express is another specialty tour. This tour allows visitors to go inside the studio and watch part of a live broadcast of HLNs Morning Express with Robin Meade. The tour is only offered on Thursday mornings at 5:30 am. Tickets must be purchased in advance: and visitors must email the name, address: and date of birth for each person in the party in order to be cleared for ent1Y into the studio. The Morning Express Tour is $49 for adults: and children under the age of 12 are not allowed.
Following their CNN tour visitors may enjoy lunch or a snack in the large atrium food court.
There they may watch the news on a giant screen in the atrium. They may also want to visit the CNN Store to purchase souvenirs: apparel: accessories: and books. The store is open Sunday-Wednesday from 9:30am-6pm and Thursday-Saturday from 9:30am-7pm.
